I bought this bag after trying out no fewer than 5 other work/travel bags. All-leather bag was too heavy. Samsonite was very functional but ugly. Fashionable tote didn't have any organization and didn't close at the top. Canvas was too floppy and not professional looking.

This bag I think will be the one I use for a long time. It's attractive enough, looks professional but still goes well with airport-comfy clothes, fits a 13" wide laptop perfectly, does not dwarf my petite 5'3" body, has a removable shoulder strap and long handles, fits on the telescoping handle of my roller suitcase, has great organization, pockets perfect for a water bottle, lightweight durable and easily cleaned nylon.

The laptop is on the same side as the zippers that open for the luggage handle- that was a criticism of some other versions of this bag. And there are long pockets on either side of the front middle pockets on mine that are not in the stock photo. Great bag. I'm very happy with it!

I've had this Baggallini Avenue tote on my wish list for many months. I was recently given one as a gift. It's just the size I was hoping for. It fits most of the things I might throw in there for a trip. In the photos you can see all the things I was able to put in the bag and still be able to zip it closed.
It held: ~Water bottle in front pocket
~Large sunglass case in front pocket
~Large phone in front zippered pocket (passport/tickets, also fit)
~Snack bars in V-shaped front pocket, which also has a detachable ID tag/business cards
~Back zip pocket can hold file folder, magazines and a paperback book, or leave empty and unzip top & bottom to sit over luggage handle.
~In main compartment I fit my 13" MacBook Air inside it's 11"X14" soft sided case.
~Bose headphones inside case
~Kindle Fire inside it's case
~Power cords
~External hard drive
~Small purse or (wallet)
I was happy that my Baggallini Everyday Bag fit nicely inside my new Baggallini Avenue Tote, so all my essentials and credit cards were accessible while only having to carry the one bag.

This is not only my favorite Baggallini bag yet; it's also probably my favorite purse that I've ever had. It can hold a LOT of stuff, and the many inside and outside pockets keep it all organized. I'm a public transit commuter in DC and need every item I own on me at all times (haha) while I run around on trains, so I'll tell you it has held these items all at once: an umbrella, a bunch of makeup/toiletries, a smartphone, a wallet, heavy-knit hat/gloves, a book, a bottle of water, a light second bag, a large fleece sweatshirt, and a pair of ankle boots. ALL AT ONCE. And I still could have gotten more in the outer pockets.

The bag also has a nice look to it, especially in a sophisticated and versatile black. I considered other colors, since I own a couple other Baggallinis and am familiar with them, but ended up going with black. It matches every coat, and it works for travel, commuting, day-to-day, and formal situations.

The long strap + two short straps are also nicely functional. Traveling on foot so much, it's really helpful to be able to throw the bag across my shoulder and not have to hold it while I move. And the material is sufficiently water resistant so far--haven't had my inside stuff get wet yet, but I've only had the purse a month. Zipping fully closed is another reason I chose this one, compared to another Baggallini I have which doesn't close at all (I've never understood that!). And the whole construction feels durable and tough.

Hope that helps! I don't want to own a million purses (though I might...). I just want one that does everything, and this seems to be it.

As a flight attendant, I need a travel tote that I can also use as a purse/ bag-on-the-go. This bag is hands down the best purchase I've gotten for my traveling life and career. It is made with very nice quality material, the pockets are great and organize everything I have, and it's the perfect size to strut around the airport. Love that it zips up so that my stuff doesn't fall out... love the ability to have a side pocket and convert it into a handle to put on your suitcase. It's great and I can tell it'll last a very long time.

Love, love, love this bag! I traveled to Norway for 2 weeks and bought this bag to act as my day bag and "personal item" for the plane. I only took a small hard cover carry-on roller bag for the trip so I wanted my second bag to be able to hold my camera, wallet, water bottle, and small purchases or a snack when walking around. I found the bag to be very comfortable and it held way more than I expected. We did a lot of hopping on and off trains, buses and boats and it was perfectly convenient to have the zippered section on the rear of the bag that helps you attach the bag to a roller bag handle. It sat perfectly on top and didn't slide around. The pockets on the inside were very handy, too. I used the padded laptop area to secure my ipad and reading material/maps, etc. This will be my new go-to bag for work travel, too!

This has become my daily work bag though I intend to use it on an upcoming trip to Italy. I wanted a bag large enough to carry things on the plane but that also zipped close, something bags I owned didn't have. This is a nice, sturdy, and good-looking fabric that is easily cleanable and has pockets galore. This will easily store my Kindle, glasses, energy bars, personal papers, sleep socks, and travel pillow...under the seat in front of me to prop up my feet! I bought the charcoal color because it will go with any outfit and a change of pace from my usual black. Also, I'm 5'1" and this is not overlarge for my size.

Update: the replacement bag arrived today and I'm happy to report that all of the zippers work perfectly! Beautiful bag, great quality!

Initial review: Just received yesterday, overall a beautiful bag. Issues with three of the zippers unfortunately..the top luggage strap zip is defective (teeth have separated, won't zip open or closed, and there's a hole in the fabric alongside the teeth), the small front zip and the inside zip (both are VERY difficult to open and close although neither look damaged, but the force required to open/close them make them unusable and prone to future damage). The top main zip and the bottom luggage strap zip both work flawlessly, easy to open/close...this is how ALL of the zippers should be.

On the up side, my Lenovo thinkpad T480 fits the laptop sleeve perfectly (measures 13"x9"), the shoulder straps are long enough to slip easily onto my shoulder, the overall quality is very good aside from the zippers.

I'm returning this one, have requested a replacement, and am crossing my fingers the new one is problem-free.

I travel a lot and have tried far too many bags to go on top of my carry on roller. Some are too loose and slide off, some are too big . I LOVE this bag- best one I have ever bought. It is easy to organize the stuff you need available under the seat and on top of the carry on roller. The only thing I wish they would have made bigger is the end pockets for water bottles. You can certainly fit one, but not two. It looks spiffy and polished. the zipper works well. I ordered the red and love it. I would give it 6 stars if I could,

I love Baggalini products and this is about the 20th I’ve purchased. The red colour is not too bright, just the right saturation. The Avenue Tote is a good size for carrying everything and has a separate side for a tablet or smallish laptop. I like an interior fabric of a contrasting colour too. Rugged material that wipes off easily and this tote can stand on its own, i.e., it doesn’t collapse when empty or lightly filled.
